<How The Magazine Come Out?>
Do you know the process of a magazine's being released? I had no idea about it until I worked as a student reporter of HUFS; and as I had worked in a school press for 2 years, I became exactly known what process a monthly magazine is under to be released. Let me give you the steps. First, the reporters and the editor-in-chief hold lots of meetings to determine the layout of that month; in this process, the items are decided. What is important in deciding the items is "logic," in other words, the structure of the article must be logical with supports. It usually takes two-three weeks. Second, after completing the article, the authorized people proofread it. As it is printed in paper, there must be no errors with terms or grammar. Third step is composition. People usually don't know what the composition is and how important it is. However, the process of composition is very important in press because in this process, the whole layout is finally determined – i.e. the editor-in-chief ranks the importance of the articles and lists them. And the writers who composed their articles have to determine the layout of their assigned pages; they arrange the pictures and letters to attract the eyes of the readers. They also finally check the errors in the articles. Final step is approval of the publisher. Every magazine and newspaper has its owner or publisher. Composing and editing are for the editor-in-chief. But the final approval is for the publisher because they are the owner of the press; if they do not want a version of magazine to be released, then it would not be. After mediating the opinions between publisher and editor-in-chief, the magazine finally come out to the world. The whole process is not simple, but it is attractive, isn't it?

Hi, this is Youna Lee.
ReplyDeleteWhat I liked about your writing is that interesting topic and appropriate supporting details. I didn't know the process of how a magazine is released. But after reading your writing piece, I could apprehend it in some degrees. Also in each step, you give enough background information and proper reasons to fully explain that stage. I really like that.
However, I can not clarify the exact beginning and end of steps from third step and the next step. If you clearly differentiate that, it would be perfect. Thank you!
Hi, I enjoyed reading your essay. What I liked about your writing is that your word choice was appropriate and tried to emphasize the steps to publish a magazine. It was possible for me to imagine how the work goes on. However, the weaknesses of this paragraph is I cannot clearly understand the composition step. I think it needs more explanations. Thank you

And the writers who composed their articles have to determine the layout of their assigned pages; they arrange the pictures and letters to catch the reader's eyes. After finishing designing each page, the page designers print complete articles out. Fourth and the last step is approval of the publisher. Every magazine and newspaper has its owner or publisher.
