Presents for Parents

On special days, people give presents to particular person to celebrate. Sometimes people have difficulty finding appropriate gift for someone else. For those people who are hesitating what to buy, I'd like to explain about the process of choosing presents. Since Parents' day on May 8th is coming, I'll tell you about gift for parents particularly. The first thing that you need to care about when selecting the presents is receiver's sex. There is common notion what men like and women like. If you follow this rule, you can simply find what to buy. For fathers, it's a good idea to buy things related with sports. On the other hand, for mothers, things related with cosmetics are good gifts. But the gender does not show the person's taste. Then, we should focus on the people's needs. Through observing other people's action and goods, we can determine what the person needs. For example, if your father has hard time locking the suitcase, he might need a new suitcase. In addition, if you find empty bottle of makeup products, she may need a new bottle of it. Last, but not least, you should consider what the person wants. Needs and wants are not always equal so you should pay attention. For instance, your father needs a new razor blade but he doesn't expect it as a gift. This is because he might want something special. Through these three simple steps, you can find proper presents.

Hi:D it was helpful to read your writing. Your particular examples made me understand much better and faster ! Also I really agree that person's needs and wants can be different. But I think 'when selecting the present' is a bit awkward. It would be better if you change to ' when you select the present' or so.. Except that I like your writing overall .

On the other hand, for mothers, things related with cosmetics are good gifts. There is funny story about this. Last year, I brought an anti-aging skin lotion set for my father. He looked happy when he received the gift. However, he didn’t use it until now so I’m using the anti-aging skin lotion even though I’m twenties.
