Jung In SIM / TV: Could you live without it? / Mon 11 am

I'm sure I can live without TV because I've already lived my life without it for recent 4 years. The reason why I stop watching TV is that I stop thinking while watching TV. I feel like I have no idea but just hear and accept powerlessly whatever it's saying. This shoud never happen in my life as a student for the reason that this is the most crucial period of hard working on studying. Of course TV offers a lot of information. For example, I get to know what's going on in this society and in this world by watching TV news. And I can become more sophisticated by watching TV program like documentary which introduces me classical music or any other things. Also I can get some help in studying from lessons offered by educational broadcasting station. However, all these benefits I get from TV can also be replaced by other things which are more refined and intellectual like newspapers, books and so on. This is more active and desirable way to get informed. That's why I don't watch TV anymore.

What I like about your piece of writing is that you delivered your message very well. You explained disadvantage of TV.
However, there are some sentences I do not get. For example,
'This shoud never happen in my life as a student for the reason that this is the most crucial period of hard working on studying.'
I can see what you're trying to say but it is not clear.

  2. Hello, this is Park Tae Jun. I liked your writing because it was easy to follow to read since it's based on your own experience. Also it was good that you actually listed advantages and disadvantages about TV. Your sentence "This is more active and desirable way to get informed" delivers your message that you don't watch TV clearly. It would've be much better if you could give an example that you could gain specific information from newspapers or books that you can't get from watching TV.

Actually, newspapers not only deliver the news but also help me enhance my reading ability and get some high leveled-vocabularies. Needless to say, books are much better than TV as it's obvious that good books enrich my knowledge. This is more active and desirable way to get informed. That's why I don't watch TV anymore.
