Song Eun Ko / TV / Mon 34

TV : Could you live without it?

I think I can live without TV and now I live without TV. In fact, I was a girl who really loved many TV show, soap opera, and so on. When I was home alone, I always sat down the sofa, turned on the TV, would channel surf and I lost track of the time. I passed time watching the TV. Even I had my lunch or dinner in the living room where the TV is placed, not in the dining room. However, when I was a high school student, my TV habit was getting disappeared. Of course there was no time to enjoy watching TV, and I and all of my friends were busy studying. In addition, one of my friends who studied very hard and got a good grade never watched TV. In fact, I felt a sense of rivalry to her and it inflames me. Looking backward, it's funny, but at that time, I think "If I didn't watch the TV at all, I could be better than her in terms of grade." Since this moment, I seldom watched TV. At first, I can't endure the sound from TV and my family except me laughing in the living room in my room alone. As time goes by, however, I adapted this situation and finally I can stay or study in my room without wondering about the sound from TV. And now I am a university student who lives far apart from my family. At my house, there's no TV but I can spend time listening music, reading books, searching on the internet, doing the home assignments, cooking, or cleaning the house.

  1. My name is Nayeon Kwon. I like the fact you are telling your stories about watching TV which enables the readers to read easily. I especially like the last part. However, I see some grammatical errors so some sentences are hard to understand and awkward like "Even I had lunch or dinner in the living room where the TV is placed, not in the dinning room." Without these couple od errors, I think it coud be better :)

  2. Hi! I'm Oh You Jeong.
I like your writing because it tells about your childhood experience related to TV. It felt like watching my own childhood problems with TV because I really loved watching TV and sometimes I could never resist it. You had your own problems with TV and I can see that you have overcome your problems. I especially liked the part "there's no TV but I can spend time listening music, reading books, searching on the internet, doing the home assignments, cooking, or cleaning the house" . It showes your change.
