TV : Could you live without it?

In retrospect, most of the days in my life can not be explained without TV. Except when I prepared for college entrance exam, I watched TV almost everyday. When I was a young girl, I usually watched cartoons such as Bonobono, Detective Conan, Zzangoo, and so on. I sometimes watch them until now in my free time. Now, I loved to watch dramas, music, comedy and all different kinds of programs. These days for example, I really like to watch 'The moon bearing sun', 'The Voice Korea', and 'Gag concert'. And these things that I watch affected me in various ways. They are good topics that I can talk and share opinions with my friends. And through the News or Documentary programs, I could know what's going on in the world and my country and also I could accumulate diverse knowledge. Moreover, after watching TV home shopping channel, I bought several clothes and shoes through that.

Likewise, TV has on enormous effect on my life. Though I can download video files that I couldn't watch, I think my answer for the question is 'No'. I know that TV has negative effects on many people that some of them are addicted to it or some families can't have sincere conversations because of just watching it all the time. But for me, I think I'm not addicted to it and TV is a good way to relieve my stress. I usually got stressed out because of heavy load of school works, and I need a time to recharge my energy. By watching TV, I can laugh and just enjoy it. In this sense, I think TV takes up a necessary part in my life.

  1. I like this paragraph because of many vivid details and stories. I could easily imagine what you describe and smile at some points. You displayed virtues of TV that you feel. I think this is main theme of your article. And I like the concrete examples, titles of programs. Owing to those, I can certainly understand your love to TV. By the way, I am confused of this line ‘video files that you couldn’t watch’. Does ‘couldn’t’ means prohibition or past tense? And why don’t you describe your family’s case that is against some families infrequent conversation? Then you can prove your claim more clearly. I read this piece of writing at one go. It was really funny and interesting. See you.

  2. Hi! This is Kyoungmin Kim. I liked your writing because you stated your view through your own experiences. It makes your point stronger and easy to empathize with. Your main point seems to be that TV is necessary because it reduces stress, gives news knowlede, good topics to talk about, and makes shopping easy.

One change I would like to recommend is that I think it'll be better to move the sentence "TV has an enormous effect on my life. Though I can download video files that I couldn't watch, I think my answer for the question is 'No'" at the end of the writing because it seems like a concluding sentence.

I also like the part that you argue with those who say TV is harmful as it's addictive and it deprives of family conversation. You argued by giving example of yourself, that you don't get addicted and you use TV properly. It's a good argument. I think it would make more complete writing if you add the your story about the family conversation part. Good luck!

In addition, our family got closer through watching TV. While watching it, we share our different ideas and feelings so that we can understand each other more. By watching TV, I can laugh and just enjoy it. In this sense, I think TV takes up a necessary part in my life. So my answer for the question is 'No'.
