Park Tae Jun / A possession that is important to you / Mon34

A picture of my family has been always the most important possession to me. Decided to go to Canada for high school just after graduation of middle school, I began to prepare all items for living in Canada. Just three days before departure, my mother suggested that we take a family picture so that I can bring it with me. Since all of my family members don't like taking pictures, I noticed my family had never taken a family picture before. Thanks to one of my relative who owns a picture shop in Seoul, we went there to take family picture for the first time. Everyone is wearing black suits, their hair's done, and smiled brightly as if my family is the happiest of all in the world. We decided to make two copies of the picture, a big one which is 3 feet tall to keep it at home and a small one-just about a size of a small book-to take it with me. Ten years after then, I'm living apart from my family and it is still on my table. Not surprisingly, my family hasn't taken a new family picture since then. Whenever I see the picture, I love those smiles and it touches my heart strong. Without any doubt, this family picture is the most important possession to me that I won't exchange it with anything in the world.

  1. Hi, I'm Kyeong-eun Lee. Your essay about family picture was really impressive as your wrote the detail stories about the picture. The most interesting part was your family do not like taking picture so that your family had to go to the picture shop right before your departure. And you depicted the details of your families wearings and your expressions that I could imagine the outline of the picture. The general writing was very good.

  2. Hello, I'm Kim nam hye. Your writing is very touchful. I agree that for you your family member's photo would be very important to you as you studied abroad. I think your writing is good because first you write a very balanced paragraphl. In your paragraph you write about the background of why it is your importnat possession. You write it specifically. Also, you describe visual images specifically too. So, I can imagine the pictures on my mind. Finally I like your conclusion sentences. It was very impressive.
