YoungHoon Kim / Sense of Place / Mon 11 a.m.

I have lived in the same place since I was little. Of course, my house was renovated for a few times but my room is located in the same area. As I lived in the identical place for a long time, I have strong attachment to it. My room looks like a rectangle when looking from the above. When you open the door, you can see a big window right in front of you. There is a curtain which is colored blue hanging on the window. Beside the window, there is a bed made with woods. The woods are colored white and rigid to support a mattress. If you see the down side of the bed, you can observe drawers with silver handles. The mattress is covered with gray bed cover. On the bed, there is light blue blanket with white flower patterns. On the opposite side of the bed, the white wardrobe is located. There are four shelves and one of the shelves is covered with mirror. The wardrobe has long silver handles in each shelf. Next to the wardrobe, you can see the bookshelf. Various kinds of books are put such as novels, textbooks, bibles and English books. Bookshelf is connected with the long desk. On the desk, there are laptop, printer, lamp and tissue. When you see under the desk, you can find the drawers. Beside the drawers, the trash can is placed. The trash can is operated with the pedal. On the wall attaching to the desk, the clock is hung. The clock's rim is designed with silver and inside the clock is colored white. The wall is sky-blue with simple vertical patterns. When you first come into my room you can smell aroma. The smell comes from the air freshener. If you stay in my room for a while, you can hear car horning, children laughing, and my mother washing the dishes. The temperature is adjusted automatically so you can feel warm in my room. Can you imagine my room? Feel free to come and have a good time!

  1. Hi, my name is Kyeong-eun Lee. I enjoyed your writing very much as you described your room with details so that I can visualize it. You first reffered the feeling attachment over your room and it makes sense as you have spent most of your lives there. However, I think your writing was better if the describes of your belongings were more simple; as it's hard to follow all of your explanations. But I liked your overall writing!
